Sony Xperia S merupakan smartphone dari Sony (sebelumnya Sony Ericsson) dengan display 4,3 inci resolusi HD (720×1280 pixel) serta dilengkapi dengan prosesor dual-core 1.5GHz MSM8260 dan RAM 1GB. Smartphone ini telah bocor sebelumnya dengan nama Nozomi. Sony Xperia S tersedia dalam pilihan 16GB atau 32GB internal memory. Namun yang sangat disayangkan, tidak ada pilihan ekspansi memory seperti microSD. Sony Xperia Smemang masih kalah spesifikasinya dibanding Sony Xperia Ion dengan display 4.6 inci dan jaringan LTE.

Di bagian belakang dari Sony Xperia S terdapat kamera 12-megapixel dengan sensor Sony Exmor R backlit, sementara di bagian depan (untuk keperluan video call) terdapat kamera 1.3-megapixel. Sayangnya, Sony Xperia S masih datang dengan Android 2.3 Gingerbread, sementara Android versi terbaru, yakni Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) telah diluncurkan. Tapi jangan khawatir karena Sony akan menyediakan update ke Android Ice Cream Sandwich pada paruh kedua 2012.

Salam,

Tutorial ini dibuat ketika penulis sedang bingung dengan skripsi (nepuk jidat)

Pada tutorial kali ini Kita akan bermain-main dengan gradasi layer untuk membuat efek "perpindahan" misalnya ketika menggabungkan gambar yang dibuat sketsadengan gambar asli, Oke langsung ya :)

Oiya, tutorial kali ini menggunakan foto teman Saya, Ega, ini kali kedua beliau tampil di blog Belajar Gimp dan Inkscape ini sebagai objek tutorial (many thank for her :), silahkan lihat di tutorial photo selection dan colorize :)

1. Buka gambar yang akan Kita edit. Renama layer menjadi gambar #1, lalu gandakan (ctrl+shift D) jadi "gambar #2", layer ini saya beri efek canvas (Filters > Aristic > Apply Canvas)

2. Buat layer baru (ctrl+shift+N lalu enter) namai dengan "Gradien"
3. klik Blend tool lalu gradient pilih FG to transparent, lalu buat gradient di layer "Gradien", Buat agar hasilnya baik sesuai gambar Anda.

4. Pada Layer "Gradien", Layer > Transparency > Alpha to Selection

5. Sembunyikan layer "Gradien" (lihat gambar), Biarkan seleksi aktif, pilih layer "gambar #2" lalu klik delete. Ini akan menghapus wilayah seleksi sesuai layer "Gradien"

Mudah bukan? Contoh lain yang saya buat (gambar sketsa+asli), biar gak saingan yang ini tak perlu ditampilkan wajahnya, hahahaha

“Immortal Song 2″ experiences a drop in viewer ratings

Just two weeks into its broadcast, KBS’s “Immortal Song 2” met with a sharp drop in viewer ratings, placing last for its time slot overall.
According to AGB Nielsen Media Research, the show’snewest episode received 6.0% in viewer ratings, a 1.9% drop compared tothe last episode, which received 7.9%. The episode saw the departure ofartist IU and the addition of SECRET’s Ji Eun.
Other shows within the same time slot, MBC’s “Infinity Challenge“, MBC’s “We Got Married“, and SBS’s “Star King“, both received higher views, at 15.4%, 8.5% and 9.8%, respectively.

A few years back, the Department of Transportation recommended that auto makers give car owners a heads up when they slip event data recorders -- also known as "black boxes" -- into new models. Now, it looks like the department is considering taking its policy a step (or several) further: a memo reveals that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration plans to propose later this year that all new passenger vehicles have EDRs. So far, heavy-duty vehicles appear to be excluded, and either way, it's unclear how many years auto makers might have to work black boxes into their future models. Interestingly, when we asked a DoT staffer for clarification, he reminded us that the agency hasn't issued a press release and said he wasn't sure where Wired and other outlets were getting their information. Hurt Locker lawsuit targets a record-breaking 24,583 IP addresses

It's been almost a year since the producers of The Hurt Locker filed a lawsuit against 5,000 alleged pirates suspected of distributing the film via BitTorrent. Now Voltage Pictures has updated its complaint, adding almost 20,000 IP addresses to the list of defendants. That makes it the largest file-sharing lawsuit of all time -- a crown previously held by the company behind The Expendables, according to Wired. The plaintiff has already reached agreements with Charter and Verizon to identify individual users, but no such deal with Comcast, who owns nearly half the supposedly infringing addresses. Linking those addresses with user accounts would let Voltage manage individual settlements -- probably somewhere between $1,000-$2,000 -- rather than continue legal action. All of this eerily echoes the Oscar-winning film's plot, about an adrenaline junkie who couldn't resist downloading just one more movie. Or defusing one more bomb. Last month we asked for a "funny pages" display in Google's next release of Maps that shows a thick dotted line depicting where we've traveled, but it appears the folks at El Goog had a different agenda in mind for version 5.5. This time around, we see a few redesigns as well as some streamlined Latitude features. First, check-ins and ratings have now been added to the Places page, giving you one extra point of access; you also now have the option of changing your home or work address within your Latitude Location History, in case you ever move or just like to roam from place to place. Last but not least, Google Maps 5.5 for Android also offers reorganized transit station pages that now list off upcoming departures, transit lines serving that particular station, and links to other stops nearby. Though not a substantial upgrade from previous versions, it's still impressive that Google pushed it out less than a month after 5.4. Lenovo still hasn't officially confirmed it, but all signs are pointing to an imminent US launch of its Android-based IdeaPad K1 tablet. It just hit the FCC under the "K1" moniker earlier this month, and it's now gotten a full blown listing on Buy.com, complete with specs and some pictures that show off Lenovo's "custom-built Android interface." Those specs include a 10.1-inch display, a Tegra 2 processor (not a Snapdragon as we had seen on the LePad), 32GB of storage, dual cameras (5 megapixel rear and 2 megapixel front-facing), a microSD card slot, a micro HDMI out, and even a SIM card slot -- somewhat notably it's also listed as coming with Netflix pre-installed. While most of those specs seem like a safe bet, others apparently aren't quite set in stone, the listing alternatively mentions both Android 3.0 and Android 3.1, for instance, and both a 1280 x 720 and 1280 x 800 resolution (though the latter seems likely). Jealous of your Nexus S-owning friends and their fancy NFC chips after yesterday's Google Wallet announcement? Well tech tinkerer Joe Desbonnet has whipped up what he dubs "poor man's NFC" using an Arduino, some magnet wire, and any compass-equipped Android smartphone (which is almost all of them). By placing a coil of wire on the phone and connecting it to the DIYer's favorite microcontroller, Desbonnet was able to send data, albeit very slowly, to his HTC Desire running a special app to decode the signals. Granted, you're probably not going to see American Eagle mod their point of sale systems to talk to your phone's magnetometer, but it's still a neat trick. In fact, we'd break out our Arduino right now to give it a try, but our secret lair is strangely devoid of enameled copper wire. What's a chip maker to do after successfully hawking five million of its Fusion APUs? Why, expand the line, of course! A leaked slide deck from within the lairs of AMD is showing off quite a bit of the company's upcoming roadmap, and while a good deal of it has already been made public in one way or another, there's one term that's causing all sorts of buzz -- and for good reason. Desna is the name to know, a Z-Series APU that's aimed squarely at the tablet form factor. To date, only a handful of chips have managed to slide into slates, and while we always reckoned that a version of Fusion could really give those ARM-based alternatives a run for their money, it wasn't clear if AMD actually had one that would handle the power and heat requirements. ASUS' Eee Pad Transformer might still be difficult to track down, but at least all systems are go for the company's other Honeycomb tablet, the Eee Pad Slider. With the unrest in Egypt, HTC seems to have come up with a related name for one of their latest smartphones. They named it the Pyramid. HTC is known for making big bold smartphones with decent processors inside. The HTC Pyramid will be one to make history for them, if the rumors are true. Depending on who you listen to, this is going to be the first smartphone from HTC to have a dual core processor. Since HTC and Qualcomm have worked closely together in the past, it is not a far fetched idea to think that the new dual-core 1.2 gigahertz Snapdragon processor, machinated as “MSM8260″, will be in the Pyramid. The people who run the blog Tech from 10, recently received an unexpected present from Google on their Galaxy S Vibrant. A new Android Market app, which they dubbed the “Test Market”, which they assume is used by Android developers.
The interface was generally the same, but there were a lot of new things to be found. Firstly, there is a new “Content Rating” section for applications, which showed that apps will now be receiving ratings similar to the ones games receive by the ESRB. Screenshots show that there will be an “Everyone” category, but not all of the categories are known yet.
New apps were also found in this “Test Market” including a new 3.0 version of the stock Android Music app, Google Gallery 3D, Camera v12, and Desk Clock 10. The only thing that could be installed, however, was the new Music 3.0 app, which showed off a new interface similar to the redesign of the Gallery app that Android got with version 2.1. It is very similar to the Music app that is currently shipping on Honeycomb tablets, and even comes with support for Google’s upcoming cloud music service, which was inaccessible to the reviewers.
The music app update will come long awaited, as an increasing amount of 3rd-party apps have surfaced due to the lack of features of the current stock app. It will be interesting to see just how far away the release of these new, updated app is.

The recent underwhelming sales performance of the Motorola Xoom has several Android tablet manufacturers delay the release of their models. Asus has announced that it will delay the release of the Eee Pad Transformer while HTC has not scheduled a volume production on its HTC Flyer.
The Xoom which was expected to give Apple’s iPad a run for its money suffers from weak sales mainly due to not meeting customer expectations. The Android 3.0 Honeycomb platform still suffers from unstable performance issues and its application library is still limited.
The early entry of the Xoom and its market results has served as a guide for other manufacturers in planning their tablet releases.
Despite having excellent sales record in the smartphone market, the Android platform is still struggling in the tablet scene which is clearly dominated by the iPad. If Google’s tablet platform remains unchanged then manufacturers might opt to use other platforms.

Harper says new cabinet shows
'stability'

OTTAWA — Prime Minister
Stephen Harper's new cabinet
includes nine new faces, a pair
of snubs and several big
promotions, particularly among
the Conservatives' small
Quebec contingent.
The government revealed
Wednesday morning at a
ceremony at Rideau Hall that
the cabinet will comprise 38
ministers, including 26 with full
portfolios, a new associate
minister of defence, 11
ministers of state and just 10
women.
Harper told reporters his new
cabinet represents every region
of the country and is a good
mix of experience and new
blood.
"The new cabinet is an example
of stability and continuity," he
said.
"Any hockey coach can tell you
that for a team to continue to
win it must have a nucleus of
veterans and then gradually
add in new talent."
Among the Quebecers, Christian
Paradis will become Canada's
new industry minister, while
Denis Lebel is being promoted
to transport minister. Stephen
Blaney will be the new veterans
affairs minister.
Former minister of state for
transport Rob Merrifield and
ex-minister of state for small
business and tourism Rob
Moore were both dropped from
cabinet.
Meanwhile, in an expected but
nonetheless major
appointment, John Baird was
named the new minister of
foreign affairs.
Tony Clement will run Treasury
Board, while Jim Flaherty
remains at finance, and will
deliver the government's next
budget.
Peter Kent stays on as
environment minister and John
Duncan will remain in charge of
Indian and Northern Affairs,
however his department has
been rebranded as Aboriginal
Affairs and Northern
Development.
Bev Oda, to the suprise of
some, will remain the minister
for the Canadian International
Development Agency. Oda ran
into controversy for altering a
funding document for a non-
government organization
during her recent tenure.
Rob Nicholson retains his
portfolio as justice minister.
Peter MacKay will remain in the
defence portfolio as Canada
faces key decisions about its
military mission in Libya, while
Julian Fantino was named
associate minister of national
defense.
Peter Van Loan, known for his
combative style, was moved
from international trade and
will become government House
leader.
Vic Toews will stay on as public
safety minister, while Leona
Aglukkaq will continue in her
role as health minister as the
government begins
negotiations with the provinces
on a new health accord.
Jason Kenney will stay on as
citizenship and immigration
minister, Lisa Raitt retains the
labour portfolio, while Gordon
O'Connor keeps his job as the
government whip.
Also hanging on to their posts
were Diane Finley, who is the
human resources and skills
development minister, and
Rona Ambrose, who will stick
with the public works and
status of women file.
Gail Shea swapped portfolios
with Keith Ashfield. She is now
Canada's revenue minister,
while Ashfield will take on
fisheries and oceans.
The cabinet also includes:
- Quebec's Maxime Bernier, who
was turfed from his foreign
affairs post in 2007 in the wake
of a scandal involving his then-
girlfriend, Julie Couillard. He
marks a comeback of sorts,
being named minister of state
for small business and tourism.
- Ed Fast, the MP for
Abbotsford, B.C., takes over at
international trade;
- Joe Oliver, who represents the
Toronto riding of Eglinton-
Lawrence, will tend to the
natural resources portfolio;
- Peter Penashue, from
Labrador, will handle
intergovernmental affairs;
- New Brunswick's Bernard
Valcourt was given
responsibility for the Atlantic
Canada Opportunities Agency
and the francophonie;
- Tim Uppal from Edmonton-
Sherwood Park, becomes the
new man in charge of
democratic reform;
- Alice Wong from Richmond,
B.C., was named minister for
state for seniors;
- Ontario's Bal Gosal became
minister of state for sport;
- Marjory LeBreton, leader of
the government in the Senate;
- Gerry Ritz, minister of
agriculture and agri-food;
- James Moore, minister of
Canadian heritage and official
languages;
- Diane Ablonczy, minister of
state of foreign affairs;
- Lynne Yelich, minister of state
(Western Economic
Diversification);
- Steven Fletcher, minister of
state (Transport);
- Gary Goodyear, minister of
State (Science and Technology);
and
- Ted Menzies, minister of State
(Finance).
Harper said the economy will
remain his government's top
priority, but that it will be
"hard at work" on all the
priorities outlined over the
course of the election,
including supporting seniors,
protecting health care and
fighting crime.
Harper said coming up with the
final roster for the cabinet was
no easy task.
"There are promising new MPs
and many veterans deserving a
promotion," he said. "I'm
confident that the team that
was just sworn in by his
Excellency the Governor General
is the right group of men and
women to keep Canada moving
forward toward greater
prosperity. It has strong
representation from all regions
and it will hit the ground
running."

The ThinkPad X1 thought it
was safe. It foolishly believed
that, having
reviewed it in full ,
we would spare it from further
scrutiny at Lenovo's UK launch
event this evening. We quite
naturally did no such thing,
poking and prodding at the
slimline laptop -- which still
feels supremely well built --
but we also went that one step
further, by putting it through a
trial we didn't dare subject our
review unit to: a
spill test . Well,
it was a less a spill and more of
a steady stream of water that
we doused the X1 in, which
might explain why it eventually
gave out and shut down on us.
Lenovo says that the keyboard
tray can only handle 25cl of
water before throwing a self-
protect switch and turning the
computer off. Given enough
time to fully dry out, our
unfortunate test subject might
even have been brought back
to life, but our efforts at
restoring it were met with
failure. You can see the H2O-
based carnage after the break,
though we should note that
Lenovo managed to perform
this test three times without
taking the X1 out of
commission... before we came
along and ruined its spotless
record.

As of today, May 17th, RadioShack is starting to take pre-orders for HTC's mighty EVO 3D. You'll have to ask for it specifically, as this won't be an advertised undertaking, and you'll also need to swallow the cost of a $50 RadioShack Gift Card for the privilege. Moreover, the company makes sure to inform employees that the launch date for this Sprint-bound smartphone is still unknown -- meaning that what you're really signing up for is a glorified reservation. Still, if the retailers are stirring, we can't imagine the wait for actual stock will be lasting too much longer.

As if Sony Ericsson hasn't already had enough headaches with the Xperia Play, here comes Vodafone New Zealand with the announcement that its launch shipment of the gamer-friendly smartphone has been... stolen! We don't know how many Xperia Plays were in those crates, but it must take a pretty sophisticated operation to snatch up all of Voda's supply for an entire country. This slight hitch in transportation follows an unexplained delay in shipments reaching the UK last month, and will compound shortages already caused by limited production capacity in Japan. Man, imagine how terrible this news might have been if the Play actually had any games worth playing.

Fox's latest anti-AllVid FCC filing suggests new pay-TV service is coming to gaming consoles

As one of the media companies trying to convince the FCC that its new AllVid replacement for CableCARD -- forgotten what that is already? Click here for more detail on the standard companies like Google and Sony are fighting for that would potentially let users directly access cable or satellite TV streams without a box -- Fox recently called the FCC and informed it of negotiations with a pay-TV service that wanted to license channels and VOD for streaming to videogame consoles. Fox's aim is to show that FCC interference isn't necessary since deals are already in the works to bring pay-TV to different consumer electronics devices, even as it frets over Time Warner's TWCable iPad app. Of course, pending any regulatory decisions we can only wonder which consoles or providers could be involved (our money is on the aforementioned Time Warner, but Cablevision, Comcast and all the rest are working on technology of their own, while AT&T finally brought its U-Verse to the Xbox here in the US last fall) but this should keep the rumor mill going until something is actually announced.

The words "play" and "book" are a bit of an odd choice for RIM's latest attempt at consumer relevance, a tablet that, at its core, runs one of the most hardcore and industry-friendly operating systems known to man. The OS is QNX and the hardware is, of course, the BlackBerry PlayBook. It's an enterprise-friendly offering that's also out to conquer the consumer tablet ecosphere, hoping to follow in the footsteps of the BlackBerry handsets that have filled the pockets of corporate executives and BBM addicts around the globe.

It's something of a serious tablet when compared to the competition running software from Apple and Google and, while it certainly has games, its biggest strengths are rather more boring. It does a really great job at displaying PowerPoint presentations, for example, and has the security chops to keep last quarter's dismal sales figures from falling into the wrong hands. Exciting stuff? No, but useful features for sure, and regardless of whether you find those intriguing or boring this is RIM's seven-inch, Flash-having but 3G-lacking tablet clad in an unassuming but extremely sophisticated exterior. It's what's running behind the glass that disappoints.

Issue No. 900 of D.C.'s Action Comics, which hit store shelves this week, has Superman revealing he plans to renounce his American citizenship. In the storyline, a frustrated Superman is angrily questioned by the president's national security adviser about why he flew down to take part in a peaceful protest in Tehran. The fictional demonstration, showing citizens standing opposite police forces, is an obvious parallel to recent real-life pro-democracy rallies seen in countries like Egypt, Libya and Syria. The Obama administration has garnered some criticism for not offering enough support to such rallies across the Middle East.

Draft kicks off around 8 p.m. at

Motorola's just finished giving
the news and the numbers on
its quarterly financial report,
and there was one bit of
badness that we just had to
share: the
Xoom LTE upgrade
has been delayed. We won't be
seeing it until summer
according to Motorola CEO
Sanjay Jha, which is also when
we'll be seeing the Bionic, a
delay that we were
already
sulking about . Jha was a little
vague about what the "issue"
was that is causing the delay,
only that whatever quality
concern there is applies to both
devices, and it could simply be
that the company waiting for
its LTE rollout to get a little
further along. Net result: one
less G for Xoom owners until
the summer, and no Bionic at
all until then. Bummer.
In terms of the numbers.
Motorola says that it shipped
over 250,000 Xooms in the
first quarter of the year, and
managed net revenues of $3
billion. That's up 22 percent
from this time last year, which
brought losses down to $.27
per share -- much nicer than
the $.72 in Q1 2010. Mobile
device revenues were up 30
percent and 9.1 million total
mobile devices were sold, of
those almost half (4.1 million)
were smartphones.

Motorola Xoom software update brings SSL and Widevine DRM, no LTE quite yet

Seems like Verizon, Motorola and Google are on a bit of a security bent -- the latest update for the Motorola Xoom lets you take a far more leisurely tour of the internet's walled gardens. There's a WPA-PSK security fix to allow choice users into your mobile hotspot, SSL for secure web browsing, Google's Widevine DRM for viewing locked online video content and HDCP for piping it to your TV. Of course, there's no mention of the Xoom feature we're truly waiting for, but we'll happily take our Bluetooth mouse support and POP3 email in the meanwhile. Droid-Life reports that this HMJ07B update will start hitting Xooms later today, but Verizon's still got a month to make good on those LTE promises.

No matter how you slice it, 40,000 is a big number, especially when its forty-thousand humans looking for jobs. The layoffs represent a 10 percent reduction of Panasonic's 380,000 global workforce due to restructuring efforts, according to Nikkei. They are expected to begin this year and will mainly impact employees outside of Japan.

Motorola freezes Droid Charge launch indefinitely, blaming 'unexpected delays'

Can't say we're surprised by this, but turns out Motorola's decided to delay the launch of its Droid Charge -- originally scheduled for today -- at the very last minute. According to a Verizon internal email we obtained, the blame's on "unexpected delays" and no new date has yet been set. This makes sense, considering it wouldn't do Verizon much good to launch a new 4G Android when its LTE service is still down (for over 24 hours and still counting). Ah well, this 4.3-incher better be worth the wait.

Apart from introducing its first Android tablet, Sony has also teased tech buffs everywhere about upcoming VAIO laptops, one of which slides between tablet and laptop modes.
The “Freestyle Hybrid PC” features a slim bottom half that appears to be trackpad-free. Apart from that, not much has been said about this device’s specs, although it is speculated to have a 9.4-inch screen and would cost US$799 once it is released in Fall 2011.
Another gadget being teased by Sony is the “Ultimate Mobile PC,” a slim laptop with USB 3.0 and HDMI. Again, we would probably have to wait months before we hear from Sony about this.
